Gift links: terms of use
Last updated 20 October 2026.
What this is
Gift links is software that lets you lock USDC in a public smart contract (the GiftLinks contract, address at /api/v1/gifts/config) and share a link or QR code that lets its holder claim the USDC to a wallet of their choice. The operator of this site (Market Intelligence API, marketintelligenceapi.com) provides the web pages and an optional relayer that submits transactions you sign and pays their network fee.
We never hold your money or your keys
Gifts are held by the contract, which has no owner, administrator, pause or upgrade function: nobody, the operator included, can move, freeze or recover a locked gift. Only the holder of the link (to claim) and the sender (to cancel, or anyone after expiry, always back to the sender) can move it. The link key and the built-in wallet key are created in your browser and never sent to us. If you lose them, nobody can restore them.
Amounts and fee
A gift is 0.01 USDC up to the largest gift the contract allows (shown on the page; never more than 10 000 USDC). The contract also caps all the money it holds at once, so a gift can be refused while it is full. The sender pays a fee of 1% of the gift on top of it. The recipient receives the full gift. The fee is paid to the operator only when the gift is claimed; a gift that is cancelled or expires goes back to the sender together with the fee. Network fees are paid by the relayer when you use it, or by your own wallet otherwise.
Your responsibilities
Treat a gift link like cash: anyone who has it can claim the gift. Send it only to the person you mean, through a private channel. Back up the built-in wallet key if you keep money in it, and keep only small amounts there. Check the amount and the recipient address before you sign: transactions on a blockchain cannot be reversed.
Who may not use it
You may not use gift links if you, or the wallet you use, are subject to sanctions of the United States (OFAC), the European Union or the United Nations, or are located in a country or region under comprehensive sanctions. We check the addresses that use our pages and relayer against the OFAC SDN list and refuse listed ones. You may not use gift links for fraud, money laundering, terrorist financing or any other unlawful purpose.
Real money
Gifts are made in real USDC on Base. Transactions cannot be reversed: a gift can only be claimed with its link or returned to the sender under the rules above.
No warranty, limited liability
The software, the pages and the relayer are provided as is, without warranty of any kind. Smart contracts, wallets, browsers and blockchains can fail or be attacked. To the extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for lost, stolen or locked funds, for links or keys that are lost or shared, or for delays or failures of the relayer or the network; its total liability is limited to the fees you paid for the gift concerned. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Not financial advice, not a bank
Gift links is not a bank account, an investment product or a payment account, and the operator does not take deposits, exchange currencies or give advice.
Changes and contact
We may change these terms and the pages; a new contract may be deployed, but a gift already locked stays under the rules of the contract that holds it. Questions: use /api/v1/feedback.
